What to include in your message

Clear information makes it easier to understand a problem and identify the right next step. Include what you can from the following list.

  • Product or system name
  • Product version, where shown
  • Spreadsheet or application version
  • Device and operating system
  • What you were trying to do
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Any error message shown
  • Whether the problem can be repeated
  • A screenshot with confidential information removed

Know which version you are using

Where applicable, DRTL products will display a product version and supporting schema information. This helps identify compatibility, available improvements and the correct migration route.

Update entitlement, support arrangements and compatibility information will be stated clearly for each product before purchase. DRTL will not assume that every update or upgrade is suitable for every earlier version.

  • Visible version identification
  • Compatibility checks before migration
  • Backup before importing or upgrading
  • Validation of migrated information
  • Clear distinction between updates and paid upgrades
  • Documented support and migration guidance

Support begins with understanding the real workflow

  1. 01Describe the problem or existing spreadsheet
  2. 02Clarify the required outcome and scope
  3. 03Agree the work, price and delivery expectations
  4. 04Build or repair the system
  5. 05Review and test the result
  6. 06Agree any future support or changes

Final pricing depends on complexity and will be agreed before work begins. Ongoing support or later changes will be confirmed separately where required.

Before you contact DRTL

Are any packaged DRTL products available to buy?

Not yet. The Products page shows whether each product is at Concept, In Build, In Testing or On Sale. Only products marked On Sale will be available to purchase.

Can I register interest in a product being tested?

Yes. Email DRTL with the product name and you can be told when its status changes or release information becomes available.

Does DRTL charge subscriptions?

DRTL will avoid unnecessary subscriptions wherever practical. The purchasing and update arrangements for each product will be explained clearly before sale.

Will product updates be free?

Update entitlement and paid-upgrade arrangements will be stated for each product. DRTL will not make a blanket promise that every future release will be free.

Can DRTL repair an existing spreadsheet?

Yes. Excel Repair starts from £195, subject to reviewing the spreadsheet, complexity and required outcome.

Can I send confidential data?

Do not send passwords, payment information or unnecessary confidential data. Remove or replace sensitive information before sending examples or screenshots.

Can I suggest a new product?

Yes. Explain the problem, who experiences it and what currently makes it difficult to manage. A suggestion does not guarantee that a product will be developed.

Start with the problem

Explain what you are trying to organise, improve or resolve. Include enough information to understand the situation, but remove anything confidential that is not required.
